Competition Rules:
- One trophy to be awarded at the 2012 Christmas party for the male and the female with the most points overall. Results to be circulated by email after that and displayed on notice board.
- Age graded times to be calculated by Simon Matson using the Runners World Age Graded Calculator, times used will be those published on the web by the race organisers. Your age for the whole of the competition will be your age as at 01/01/2012.
- 10 points awarded to 1st place, 8 to 2nd, 6 to 3rd, 4 to 4th, 3 to 5th, 2 to 6th and 1 to 7th, within each gender.
- Your best four scores out of the seven possible to count, with less counting if you compete in less than four races. However if anyone in your gender has competed in four races they will gain higher ranking than in the unlikely event of someone completing less than four races gaining more points than someone doing that minimum. I.e. John Smith is first in three races and so scores 30, he will not be victorious over anyone doing four races, e.g. Paul Jones who has been 3rd twice and 2nd twice, scoring 28. However, if no one in the, for example, women’s event does four races, all those that do three will be in the first ranking set before calculating the women that had done just two.
- 2nd Claim members can take part in the competition only if they enter each race as a YWR member.

Now that the new Yorkshire Wolds Runners site is live, we will be tweaking it as we go along and delegating some of the updating to various club members to share the load.
Whilst all the content is available to anyone visiting the site at the moment, if anyone wants to use the forum they're limited to using a temporary login if they haven't been given a username and password.
If all club members can send me an email to

, I'll set up a profile for you and you'll receive your own login and password by return
Once every member has done that we'll be able to send circulars to everyone ia the site to all members very easily. Also, if we decide to limit any content to club members only, you'll need your login details to be able to see it.
Thanks for your support and I look forward to seeing people use the site, especially the forum that is now up and running.

Jog Along Sessions for Beginners |
|
Following last year’s resounding success, Yorkshire Wolds Runners will again be holding a series of special ‘Jog-Along’ sessions for beginners. This new course is ideal for anyone looking to start running for the first time, or wanting to improve their general fitness. The sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings at 6:15pm, commencing on 31st January 2012.A nominal charge of £10 is made for the course, but this is credited against subsequent future Club membership fees.
Running is an excellent form of exercise if you wish to get fit and control your weight. Running for 30 minutes two or three times every week will reduce the size of your waist, strengthen your heart and cardiovascular system, help improve the tone and definition of your muscles, and give you a positive mental attitude.
If this sounds like something you would like to participate in, please make contact with the session supervisor, Kathryn Hammond. Kathryn's mobile number is 07817 906897, or e-mail
